Business-activity screen: no alcohol, gambling, conventional banking, tobacco, pork, weapons or adult entertainment. Financial-ratio screen: low debt-to-equity, low interest-income share, low receivables-to-assets. The two filters together approximate the AAOIFI-aligned Sharia-compatible standard while also serving broader values-based frameworks.

Every asset passes through a two-stage screen. Stage 1 (business activity): does the company earn a material share of revenue from prohibited activities? Stage 2 (financial ratios): is debt-to-equity below 33%, interest income below 5% of revenue, and receivables below 45% of total assets? Both stages must pass for 'Ethically Screened' status.

Why are some stocks showing estimated scores?

Yahoo Finance and other upstream data feeds occasionally throttle requests (HTTP 429). When live data cannot be fetched, EthicoIQ falls back to the most recent cached snapshot and labels the score as estimated. The score refreshes automatically on the next successful data fetch.

The Company Quality layer weights ten fundamental pillars: Revenue Growth (20%), Revenue Acceleration (10%), EPS Growth (15%), EPS Acceleration (10%), Free Cash Flow Growth (10%), Relative Strength (10%), Institutional Ownership Trend (10%), ROIC / ROCE (5%), Balance Sheet Strength (5%), Quality Score (5%). It is the highest-weighted layer in the full Opportunity Framework because company quality dominates long-run outcomes.
